Alyssa Blamire is the Founder of Hummingbird Learning and brings over two decades of educational expertise to her role. A qualified teacher with specialisations in Primary and Special Education, Alyssa also holds credentials in Educational Leadership and is currently completing her Master of Speech Pathology. She is accredited as a Proficient Teacher in NSW and has held a range of roles across the NSW Department of Education, including Assistant Principal, Gifted and Talented teacher, Special Education teacher, and classroom teacher.
With a passion for evidence-based literacy instruction, Alyssa has extensive experience in assessing and teaching students with diverse learning needs, as well as mentoring teachers in best-practice approaches. She specialises in implementing the science of reading, synthetic phonics, and phonemic awareness programs, and has a particular interest in supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder through neuro-affirming care.
At Hummingbird Learning, Alyssa leads a dedicated team providing personalised literacy intervention, comprehensive educational assessments, and practical support for parents. Hummingbird Learning offers online sessions. As proud members of the Australian Tutoring Association, the team is committed to delivering high-quality, tailored support that empowers children and their families on their educational journey.
