Description
I am dedicated to empowering children to be confident, successful learners. My expertise is in Literacy intervention, and I am deeply committed to understanding each child as a whole. I work with preschoolers to prepare them for school, homeschoolers, students from kindergarten through year 6, and high schoolers up to year 8.
I believe children thrive when taught systematically and explicitly, especially when lessons are lively and incorporate movement. Each child is unique, and I personalize every lesson to address their individual needs.
Over the years, I have pursued advanced training in programs such as The Lindamood Program, MULTILIT, Little Learners Love Literacy, The Fitzroy Reading Program, and The Listening Program. I thoughtfully blend these methods based on each student’s needs.
Building strong, personal connections with each student is essential to me. Children must feel seen, heard, understood, and safe to experiment, persevere, and grow. Open communication with parents is vital, as they share in their child's educational journey. Sandy's 1-on-1 Tuition fosters an environment where children and families feel connected, supported, and valued.
My greatest joy is reconnecting with former students and celebrating their achievements and personal growth.
