Sarah Eastlake-Smith is the principal tutor of Scholastic Endeavours. Sarah established Scholastic Endeavours in 2010, after 7 years of private tuition practice, to provide tuition for students from Kindergarten through to University, catering for all abilities and across a range of disciplines. Sarah has served more than 170 students across the primary, secondary, and tertiary levels of education.
Students from Kindergarten to Year 10 can be tutored for English and Maths plus some elective subjects, in addition to preparation for OC and Selective High School tests. Students in Years 11 & 12 can be tutored for Advanced & Standard English, Standard Maths, HSIE subjects, PD/H/PE and CAFS.
General university studies include assistance with assessment preparation, research skills, writing skills, and essay proofreading and editing. Specific university studies focus on social sciences including policing, criminology, sociology, and social research methods.
Since 2012, Sarah has tutored across nine units in the School of Social Sciences at Western Sydney University and in 2014, completed the Sessional Foundations of University Learning and Teaching and Tutor Professional Development programs. In 2018, she was awarded the sessional learning and teaching award by WSU and started marking assessments across six units in the Deakin University Criminology Program. With a desire to move into the online education sector, she is now providing unit coordination and online learning facilitation across four units for Western Sydney University Online.
Sarah is a Western Sydney University graduate, attaining a Bachelor of Policing in 2006 and Bachelor of Policing (Honours) in 2008. During this time, she completed the Career Planning Workshop Series with a focus on career expansion, diversity, and readiness due to dealing with a long-term chronic illness. In 2010, she graduated with a Graduate Diploma in Criminal Intelligence from Charles Sturt University. She also holds a Certificate III in Investigative Services and is a contributing author to Frank Shanty’s “Counterterrorism: From the Cold War to the War on Terror” 2-Volume encyclopaedia.
