Description
At Sunshine Coast Learning Support, I understand that every learner has a unique path to success. With nearly 20 years of diverse classroom experience across the United States and Australia, I specialise in supporting students who need additional support with English and Mathematics skills.
My approach is grounded in evidence-based, multi-sensory techniques that foster deep understanding and lasting academic success.
I am passionate about helping students with learning challenges, particularly those with dyslexia and dyscalculia. As an Orton-Gillingham instructor and multi-sensory mathematics specialist, I provide personalised one-on-one and small-group learning support in English and Mathematics for primary and high school students.
My use of technology sets me apart from other learning support specialists and tutors. I can utilise Forbrain® headsets during sessions to help students focus and process information better, and I will soon be a certified Tomatis® practitioner. This would enable me to provide additional support for individuals utilising sound therapy techniques. Growing research suggests that the Tomatis Method has numerous potential benefits in areas such as communication and language development, autism, dyslexia, attention, anxiety, and motor coordination.
