Hi, I’m Amanda, a Literacy Specialist Teacher and the founder of The Literacy Teacher.
I work with children and adolescents (approximately 6–18 years) who find reading, spelling, or writing hard — particularly students who have lost confidence or have quietly slipped through the cracks.
My teaching is grounded in evidence-based, structured literacy and the Science of Reading. I teach both small-group and 1:1 literacy sessions, using carefully chosen programs that are explicit, structured, and designed to support struggling readers. These approaches consistently lead to strong skill growth and improved confidence.
I’m passionate about helping students understand how reading works, experience success, and feel capable again as learners.
